Public Libraries Survey
The Montana State Library Public Library Annual Statistical Report, also referred to as the Public Libraries Survey, provides statistics on the status of public libraries in Montana. Data includes information about library visits, circulation, size of collections, public service hours, staffing, electronic resources, operating revenues and expenditures and number of service outlets. The below dashboard was created using data from the 2011-2021 Montana Public Libraries Survey as well as data from the Institute of Museum and Library Services' Public Libraries Survey (IMLS 2020 and 2021 data not yet available). The layout and formatting of the dashboard may change over time. New metrics are occasionally added to the survey. Other tools for national comparison are linked below.
