Montana Library Week –September 23 - 29, 2012
A celebration of Montana’s libraries and librarians

Montana Library DayInteresting Factoid of the Year

  • Population of Montana is 990,224 (2010 Census)
  • Number of people who visited public libraries in Montana is 4,559,660.  (Yep.  That’s right.  More people visited public libraries than live in Montana.  And that’s only the public libraries.  If we added school, university and specialty libraries the number would be a LOT bigger.)

Do you know how your libraries make a difference?

  • No?  Well that’s what Montana Library Week is all about.  It’s a week in the life of libraries.  Montana librarians from all types of libraries will collect comments and stories to share with you about what they do in a day and how people benefit from libraries. Patrons will also be able to participate in our popular Treasure Hunt for the Treasure State contest!
