The Thinking Behind
the Submission Requirements
The
minimum requirement
is for each agency to submit one digital copy of each of its state publications. The digital copy will be made available electronically to all seventeen (17)
depository libraries
and to Montanans across the state online via the State Library catalog. The state library catalog is available in the left navigation fields of the digital state library. For example, see "Search Library Catalog" in the navigation field to the left.
In addition, if your agency wants:
- all depository libraries to have a paper copy, submit seventeen (17) paper copies,
- only the four (4) largest depository libraries to have a paper copy, submit four (4) paper copies. The largest depository libraries are the Montana Historical Society, University of Montana, Montana State University, and the Library of Congress.
- only the Montana Historical Society to archive a paper copy, send one (1) paper copy.
