Self Assessment
Introduction
This tool is to evaluate your knowledge of and ability to use the Interlibrary Sharing Protocol. Using the information presented in the ILL workshop and the ILL protocols, it should be possible for you to successfully answer the questions below. Completion of this self assessment tool serves as proof of competency to enable your library to receive reimbursement from the Montana State Library for ILL transactions to other Montana libraries.
Question 2 has multiple parts. A patron has asked for, but can't find, a particular book in your library. Based on that scenario, see if you can find the best answer(s) to each of the following questions.
7. If your library is a small public library in northeast Montana, in what order would you route an ILL request to the following libraries? According to MLNCATt, all of the libraries listed below have the book your patron needs and do not charge for lending materials to your library. Click here for a map showing the location of the following Montana cities.
- Parmly Billings Library (Billings, MT)
- Phillips County Library (Malta, MT)
- University of Montana Mansfield Library (Missoula, MT)
- Spokane Public Library (Spokane, WA)
- Dillon City Library (Dillon, MT)
15. A patron needs the article cited below. Using this bibliographic citation, identify the information that would be used to complete portions of an ILL request form. To see if your answer is correct, tab to the next box or click out of the box.
Stodghill, Ron. 10/6/97. God of Our Fathers. Time, 150(4):34-40.
That's it! Congratulations you've finished the online ILL class and the self-assessment tool. If you would like to receive continuing education credit for this class, please print out this CE form. This class works like others, you simply need to keep the CE form until you are ready to receive your certification.
